GLOBAL CITY SECURITY RANKING. Find out which cities have the best quality of life in the world INSIDE REPORTS
WHAT EUROMONITOR INTERNATIONAL SAYS ABOUT TOP 100 CITY DESTINATION INDEX
The Top 100 City Destinations Index delivers actionable insights into the performance, appeal and potential of urban markets.
It supports travel and tourism businesses—such as hotels, airlines, car rentals, online travel agents, DMOs, tourism boards among others—in identifying growth opportunities, refining strategies, tailoring travel offerings and setting global sales targets
OPINION
The ranking is primarily aimed at public and private stakeholders with an interest in the tourism sector.
It is structured around six pillars, which assess the economy, health and safety, sustainability, and tourism—performance; promotion and attractiveness; and infrastructure. These pillars are combined to produce an overall index.
We are unable to offer an assessment of how the overall ranking and its individual pillars have been developed, as we have not had access to the methodology. As a result, we are unfamiliar with the data sources used, their timeliness, or how they relate to each pillar.
However, some results are somewhat surprising. First, if the ranking is limited to one hundred cities, no city should appear in a position beyond the top one hundred. In addition, the placement of certain cities, such as Amsterdam or Copenhagen, in the “Health and Safety” and “Sustainability” pillars differs significantly from their positions in other established rankings.
